Borderlands: Riding the Edge of America: Shortlisted for the Hubert Evans Non-Fiction Prize 2011. The winner will be announced at the B.C. Book Prize Gala at the Kay Meek Centre, West Vancouver, 7 p.m.
I will be participating in the B.C. Book Prizes Okanagan tour from April 15 to 20, 2011, together with nominees George Bowering and Julie Flett. We’ll be giving readings and talks.

Vancouver International Writers’ Festival, Friday October 22nd, 1:00 - 2:30: A moderated discussion with other writers dealing with road trips and “travelling for the purpose of writing”.
October 2010: Talk and Signing at Galiano Island Books, Galiano Island (logically enough), B.C.
September 2010: Talk and reading at The Word on the Street National Book and Magazine Festival,Vancouver.
Recent publication: An excerpt from Borderlands: Riding the Edge of America in Canadian Geographic magazine’s July - August issue. This excerpt describes the strange and jangly situation in the Quebec-Vermont border town of Stanstead-Derby Line where the border cuts through town, and even through the reading room of the public library.
